Excimer (Xtrac)

Also known as: XTRAC

Korean name: 엑시머

About this procedure

A device that precisely irradiates UVB light at a wavelength of 308nm only on the lesion area. It is introduced as being co-developed with Harvard Medical School and Wellman Center for Photomedicine, and is used for treating psoriasis, vitiligo, and atopic dermatitis.

Who it's for

Individuals with skin diseases such as psoriasis, vitiligo, and atopic dermatitis — Not for cosmetic purposes

Effect

The repigmentation rate for vitiligo (average 86.7% on the face, average 80% on the body) has been reported in clinical studies. Psoriasis generally shows symptom reduction within 4 weeks (based on manufacturer and clinical data). However, this is in the context of disease treatment and not cosmetic efficacy.

Procedure time

5-10 minutes per lesion area (spot size 18×18mm)

Alternative procedures

Not applicable (as it is for disease treatment, it is not comparable to cosmetic alternative procedures)

Regulatory note

Not applicable (medical device for treatment purposes). However, since this item itself is not a cosmetic procedure but a treatment for skin diseases, the user must decide whether to include this procedure in the DB (targeting foreign cosmetic attraction platforms) — marked separately as §F.

Pricing is confirmed by the connected clinic.
