About this procedure

"Botox" is commonly used as a general term referring not only to a specific brand (AbbVie’s Botox) but also to the entire range of botulinum toxin procedures (in cases where the area or brand has not yet been determined). The principle of temporarily blocking nerve transmission to muscles to reduce muscle contraction is common to all toxins (see "Class Common Information (All Toxins)" for reference).
